A memorable birthday+Easter break
Today marked a milestone to my tennis career – my first medal at the Danish Junior National Championships – Indoor (Ungdomsmesterskab inde 2026). The annual tennis championships are one of the most important tournaments for all the young tennis talents, where, this year, they all gathered at Hørsholm Rungsted Tennis Klub during the Easter break to compete for the titles in different age groups.
I participated in U12 girls’ singles and doubles tournament this year. There were so many talented players which made the tournament really tough for me. Unfortunately I lost in the quarterfinals to Philippa Henningsen, one of the tennis raising star, who has really good forehand and fast footwork.
Nevertheless, my motivation didn’t stop and I tried to keep my momentum in girls doubles. I was lucky to have the opportunity to partner with Nellly Rimfort who has strong serve and backhand. During our quarterfinals, we managed to bet Alberte Bengtson and Nellie Fischer with 2 sets of 7:5, 7:5. Both Nelly and I were surprisingly thrilled after the game as we got our first ever final in our tennis career. Our opponents in the final were really strong players Zoe Aknin and Helen Taheri from KB. Unfortunately Nelly had a knee injury which constrained her movement during the match. We fought for our best and ended up with 1st runner up title.
The experience is unforgettable and meaningful for me. Not because I won a medal, but the effort I have put in every training, my dedication on trying to improve were reflected in this fruitful reward. What’s more? Good friendship gained with Nelly made my tennis experience colorful and remarkable.
In addition, there are several strong juniors participated in category U14 and U16. My role model Ella Wendell was exceptional this year and crowned with U14 girls single title and 1st runner up in girls doubles. The boys (Rasmus Kjær Skovgaard and Mads Dam Bitch) from the club, on the other hand, won bronze medal in U16 boys double.
All the triumph we brought in the championship were full of sweat and tears. It represents our hard work and the love for the sport. Winning the medal is just a beginning, my dedication to tennis is now fueled with passion to push me to reach out of my comfort zone and achieve even more.
Special thanks to the coaches and Farum Tennis Club who trust me and gave me all the support.
