Whole new experience with Yonex
June is a lucky month for me where I received a sponsorship opportunity from Yonex. I recently had the chance to try the Yonex rackets I had been dreaming about. We visited the Yonex Copenhagen shop in Østerport to get the full experience, and it was definitely worth it. Malou from the shop was very kind and patient, helping me find the right rackets and shoes to test.
In the end, I brought two test rackets home: the Yonex EZONE 98L and the Yonex EZONE 100L. I wanted to see which one suited me best. Before this, I had been playing with the Wilson Pro Staff 97UL V14, which I was already quite happy with. But when I tried Yonex, I immediately felt a different level of power and comfort.
The reason I wanted to test two different head sizes was to find out whether I could benefit from the larger sweet spot of the 100L. After testing both, I still preferred the 98L, as it felt closer to my current racket but gave me more acceleration and power through the ball. To be honest, I fell in love with the EZONE 98L the moment I tried it, and a few days later we ordered it online.
When the new racket and strings arrived, I finally got to practise with the full Yonex setup. Daddy strung the mains with Yonex PolyTour Rev 1.25mm and the crosses with Yonex Rexis Comfort 1.30mm, both at 50 lbs. I had already been using PolyTour Rev for a while, so this was more of a fine-tuning step to experience a complete Yonex feel.
Overall, I really like how much easier it feels to accelerate the ball with the Yonex EZONE 98L. The extra power is exciting, but I also know I need to make some small adjustments to control the depth of my shots. I am really looking forward to trying the new setup in this weekend’s tournament and seeing how it performs in match play.
Stay tuned!
